MLL Newcomer Summer Program - Paraprofessional 

                                                          

Background:

The MLL Summer Program will be a  five-week summer academic/enrichment program July 1-August 2, 2024. The program will operate Mondays –Thursdays from 8:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. On days where students participate in field trips, paraprofessional hours may be extended. Additionally, the program will include one Friday, August 2nd. This day will be a field day at Durfee High School.

 

Students will work on fun and engaging project-based lessons based on grade level science curriculum, receive direct instruction in oral language, and continue to build English skills to access grade level content. This program is designed for newcomers and will have a specific focus on English language acquisition for students in grades K-8.

Responsibilities:


Including but not limited to:

  • Supporting the teaching of lessons aligned to the Massachusetts StateFrameworks 
  • Working on oral language development with students
  • Supervising children throughout the day  
  • Chaperoning students on field trips
  • Attending and supervising field day on August 2nd

Salary:


Contractual Hourly Stipend Rate     

 


Program Duration:


July 1-August 2, Mondays – Thursdays*

     *Friday August 2nd will be a district field day at Durfee High School
