The Superintendent of Schools announces the following position within the Fall River Public School System:
Position: Technology Teacher
Job Description: To provide relevant information in regard to current practices and procedures in Technology, including digital citizenship. Integrate theory and practice in teaching students how to transfer knowledge to situations that are typical of everyday life.
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Possess working knowledge of internet safety procedures and the Google Suite of applications.
2. Possess at least basic knowledge of computer coding and willing to develop and teach those skills.
3. Reinforce basic skills of reading, communication, and mathematics in the context of technology.
4. Develop and modify curriculum to meet student needs.
5. Design and use evaluative procedures to measure student performance.
6. Employ advanced levels of problem solving skills.
7. Identify relationships between technology and career pathways.
8. Expertly address equity issues.
9. Enforce and instruct safety as it relates to online interactions.
10. Encourage students to work collectively on designated projects.
11. Develop individual and group work skills.
12. Establish and maintain standards of student conduct needed to provide an orderly and safe learning environment.
Required Qualifications:
1. Possess a valid Massachusetts Teaching License in Digital Literacy/Computer Science (5-12) or Technology/Engineering (5-12)
2. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or teaching related field.
The Superintendent of Schools reserves the right to waive a position qualification or determine that there is an acceptable alternative to that qualification. If the Superintendent intends to waive a qualification, such intent will be shared with the Fall River School Committee.
Reports To: Principal
Terms of Employment: In accordance with the Fall River Educators Contract. Continued employment is contingent on work performance, program need, and funding.
Salary: Determined by contract
