POSITION: Vision Resources Teacher                                                                                                                
QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's or Master's Degree with a major in Vision Resources.
2. Appropriate license or certification as a Vision Resource Teacher and       Peripatologist         
3. Experience with visually impaired Special Needs students preferred.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Conduct screenings and assessments as a part of the Chapter 766 evaluation process.
2. Itinerant therapeutic intervention for visually impaired Special Needs students, preschool through high school.
3. Serve as a consultant to both Regular and Special Education staff.
4. Serve as a consultant to Adapted Physical Education teachers.
5. Conduct in-service training for Regular and Special Education staff.
6. Attend evaluation meetings as an active participant. If applicable, generate specific objectives for Individual Educational Plans.
7. Conduct periodic meetings with parents to foster a better understanding of Vision Resource Services.
8. Complete reports as required by federal and state agencies, and the Fall River Public Schools.
9. Provide vision resource services and orientation and mobility training to visually impaired children who have I.E.P.'s.
10. Perform other appropriate duties at the direction of the Director of Special Needs.

Salary:  In accordance with the FREA contract / salary scale
