The Superintendent of Schools announces the following position within the Fall River Public School System:
 
Position:Community Facilitator
 
Job Description:To support English language learners family engagement programs in the district.
 
Performance Responsibilities:

• Provide links between family and district through regular communication – both written and oral
• Assist with translations with parents at student meetings, including IEP meetings, disciplinary meetings, health and safety issues, etc.
• Organize and lead community/family engagement activities, such as Title III literacy events, adult ESL events, and ELL Parent Advisory Council (PAC) Meetings
• Assist with translations with parent engagement activities as needed throughout the district

 
Qualifications:

• Fluent in all modes in Spanish or Portuguese
• Experience in interpretation of educational settings and texts
• Ability to coordinate and lead family engagement activities.
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Good cross cultural communication skills
• Attention to details and event organization

 
The Superintendent of Schools reserves the right to waive a position qualification or determine that there is an acceptable alternative to that qualification. If the Superintendent intends to waive a qualification, such intent will be shared with the Fall River School Committee.

Terms of Employment:Salary based on the school year with additional summer hours compensated as needed.
 
Salary:$30,000 - $35,000 annually
