The Superintendent of Schools announces the following position within the Fall River Public Schools:
POSITION: TEACHER LIAISON/TEAM FACILITATOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Appropriate Massachusetts Licensure
- BA and/or MA degree
REPORTS TO: Special Education Supervisor
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Upon directions of Supervisor Team Facilitators:
- Assist/Support School Team in regard to individual student evaluations.
- Chair team meetings, take notes and document folder.
- strive for least restrictive prototype
- make suggestion for modifications to regular program
- develop lists re: needs for follow ups
- discuss procedural rights with parents
- be available to parents for any follow up
- be aware of reading approaches and programs in all subject areas
- support parents in making program choices for their special needs children
- Write initial evaluations and profiles and document pertinent current level information; pass on to appropriate staff. Collect all parts of IEP within mandated time lines
- organize folders after use
- assist staff with compliance and other relevant issues
- arrange for follow-up meetings as needed with receiving personnel
- Remain current with Federal, State regulations and assist Supervisor with compliance and technical issues
- Facilitate communication among onsite school staff and administrators
- Assist parents and staff during transition process for alternative placements
- Review IEPs prior to delivery to supervisor
- Support change process in Special Education
- Assist school staff in understanding eligibility guidelines and setting up Intervention Teams
- Special projects as directed by Special Needs Supervisory Staff
- Perform any and all tasks deemed necessary by Special Education administrative staff.
SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with Fall River Educators’ Association Contract. Employment is contingent upon job performance, program needs, and funding.
