POSITION:

 

DIRECTOR OF PARENT AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT CENTER

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required, Master’s degree preferred;
  • Five or more years administrative experience in educational or service agency setting;
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management, human relations and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, problem solving, collaboration and team building
  • Preference will be given to those with second language ability.
  • Ability to work with all FRPS community members;
  • Familiarity with district schools, school programs, district goals preferred
  • Ability and/or experience working with parents, staff, local officials and agencies
  • Knowledge of the FRPS student assignment and school policies

 

REPORTS TO:Superintendent or his/her designee

 

JOB GOAL: The Director of Parent and Community Engagement will support the community through the management of the PACE Center. The PACE Center will function as single point of contact for the administration of the registration, assignment, and records management process, while assisting families with access to resources within the district and service providing network.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be responsible for all student assignments in grades PreK-12 and all related documents/records;
  • Be responsible for all parent information issues, making referrals to community partners based on needs, and overseeing parent engagement activities within the district;
  • Work with all schools, principals, school clerks, etc. regarding student assignments;
  • Oversee all data / information concerning student assignments;
  • Address issues connected with all populations within the student assignment process
  • Be responsible for all related and required local and state reports;
  • Work with the community on issues related to student assignments;
  • Prepare and present related reports to the School Committee;
  • Organize the appeals process for transfer requests and assignment reviews;
  • Select and evaluate staff within the Center;
  • Oversee parent forums and other events connected with the dissemination of related information to parents. Oversee parent liaisons
  • Oversees the McKinney-Vento grant and is the foster care point of contact adhering to the provisions of ESSA;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

 

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 

COMPENSATION: TBD,twelve month work year.
